SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Nursing Floating Team is a group of nurses that will rotate assignation in various communities. The planning of the rotation will be done according to the need of the communities and in partnership with the AIS and members of the team.
One aim of this project is to create variety in the different position available in the organization.
Person at an outpost or dispensary in a locality covered by the provisions on regional disparities, who, in addition to his regular duties as a nurse, does patient assessments that allow a doctor to make a diagnosis at a distance and determine the appropriate interventions.
Also, is required to carry out actions and interventions that are generally reserved to doctors in other work environments.
SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS* The nurse holding this position will support multiple communities. The assistant to the immediate supervisor for the Nursing Floating Teams will assign the nurse to an assignment for these communities.
The department of a rotation will be according to the nurse's experience and training.* The nurse of this team will act as a nurse of the community and do the tasks generally done by the nurses in the department of assignation.
Other related mandates assigned by the immediate supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Education :
Member in good standing of the O.I.I.Q.
Experience :
- Two (2) years of experience as a nurse in direct care setting
- Six (6) months of experience in a position with extended role functions
Knowledge and Abilities :
- Knowledge of Cree culture and social and health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset;
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills;
- Good resistance to stress
- Excellent communication and listening skills;
- Take initiative and be autonomous;
- Open to other's culture, ability to adapt to change and to adapt to a new environment;
- Demonstrate independence, flexibility and empathy.
LANGUAGE* Fluent in English;* Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.
- OTHER* This position includes on-call periods for current services;
- This position includes extended role function;
- A skills test may be required* The incumbent of the position will work full time in the communities covered by the Nursing Floating Team;
- The incumbent of this position can have assignments in up to three different communities* The incumbent of the position will benefit from the per diem according to the business travel policy and procedure
NOTES
Nurses who have followed the extended role training and have not successfully completed this training are excluded from this posting.
However, the nurse who demonstrates a minimum one-year of new acute care experience since the training may request a reconsideration of this exclusion.
