Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Reporting

Corporate Accounting is integral to the overall efficacy of the accounting team, responsible for consolidated review and analysis, communicating financial results internally and externally including to the parent company, communicating, and monitoring adherence to company policies, among other activities.
The goal of the Corporate Accounting team is to serve as a key partner to the business and set the tone of best practices across the company.
Responsibilities :
- Update quarterly and annual management discussion & analysis and IFRS financial statements, in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining data integrity
- Assist in preparation of supplemental reporting package, board materials and accompanying presentations
- Assist with external audit process by providing supporting information, as required
- Co-ordinate analysis gathering across accounting groups, ensuring use of latest versions and update across reports
- Monitoring status of report section completion, ensuring strict adherence to deadlines
- Performing variance analysis for select financial statement line items against prior year, prior quarter, budget, forecast, etc.
- Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as required by management
- Prepare legal entity financial statements to be used for the preparation of tax returns
- Drive continuous improvement within areas of responsibility, including sharing ideas and best practices with team members, with the purpose of finding efficiencies
- Ensure internal controls within areas of responsibility are maintained at all times
- Support team with departmental and company-wide initiatives
Qualifications :
- Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA preferred)
- Working knowledge of IFRS financial reporting and minimum 3-year experience with TSX listed companies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Proficiency with Financial systems (JDE, BI tools, Spreadsheet Server, Workiva, etc.) is an asset
- Real Estate industry experience (preferred)
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate high level issues in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and written
- Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team, with minimal supervision
- Proactive, self-motivated, and flexible while working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well with others, develop cooperative working relationships, and direct others in a team environment
