Research Assistant

In the appointment of Research Assistant, your general duties and responsibilities will be :

• Assess a) the economic benefits to Canadian meat / milk producers and b) the environmental benefits, in economic terms, related to biodiversity and climate change, arising from WPE detection in Canadian grasslands
• Participating in project meetings.
• Help with project report writing.
• Help with undergraduate students supervising when the opportunity arrives.

Your general location of work will be remote and in-person and you will report to Dr. Xulin Guo.

Required Number of Hours : 16 hours per week

Duration of Employment : April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2026

Qualifications (Skills and Abilities)

A master degree on economics or other related fields such as agricultural economics is required. Current MSc students in these fields will also be considered if they are close to finishing their studies.

PhD degree, or being PhD student, in the above fields, will be considered as an additional asset. Knowledge of programming language (such as R or Python) is required.

Teaching experience is also required for this position. Finally, the successful candidate needs to show evidence of collaborative work.

You must be registered in a graduate program in economics or related fields, such as agricultural economics.
