Job description

Our Saskatchewan based client is seeking an experienced SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Plant Maintenance (PM) Consultant to join their team immediately and will run for 6 to 9 months with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of maintenance planning experience in mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial, or related environments, along with a trade certification, engineering technologist diploma, engineering degree, or equivalent maintenance experience. Demonstrated experience using CMMS platforms such as SAP, Pronto, Maximo, JDE, or similar systems is essential, and previous participation in ERP or CMMS implementation projects is strongly preferred, as is experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), business process testing, and system deployments. Additionally, a strong understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling best practices is expected. This role is based on site, operating on a 14 days on, 14 days off rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed job plans for preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities.
  • Create and maintain work packages including labor requirements, materials, tools, permits, procedures, and estimated task durations.
  • Review maintenance backlog and prioritize work in collaboration with maintenance supervisors and operations teams.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules and operational constraints.
  • Support weekly and shutdown planning processes.
  • Maintain planning and scheduling KPIs including schedule compliance, backlog health, and wrench time.
  • Ensure maintenance plans align with reliability strategies and equipment criticality.
  • Verify maintenance documentation and asset records are complete and accurate.
  • Support transition activities from existing maintenance systems to SAP S/4HANA.
  • Review, validate, and cleanse maintenance master data including equipment hierarchies, functional locations, bills of materials, task lists, maintenance plans, and spare parts records.
  • Participate in development and review of maintenance business processes within SAP.
  • Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and integrated business process testing.
  • Support maintenance team members throughout system implementation activities.
  • Assist with cutover planning and go-live readiness assessments.
  • Provide hypercare and stabilization support following go-live.
  • Support development of maintenance training materials, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Deliver end-user training to planners, supervisors, maintenance personnel, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Provide coaching and system support to SAP users following implementation.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to improve system adoption and data quality.
