Job description
Are you a motivated Forklift Operator looking for a career-defining opportunity in Milton? Our team is currently seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join a premier food distribution facility. In this role, you will be a vital part of the manufacturing & logistics chain, ensuring that essential food products are moved safely and efficiently through the warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will primarily operate Dockstocker and Walkie machinery to maintain the high standards of our food distribution operations. This is a temp to perm position, offering a stable start with the incredible opportunity to be hired permanently, where your wage will increase to $23 per hour.

Working as a Forklift Operator in the manufacturing & logistics industry requires a high level of accountability, especially within food distribution where precision and cleanliness are paramount. As a Forklift Operator, you will support the daily flow of goods in a fast-paced Milton hub. Responsibilities
• Operate Dockstocker and Walkie forklifts within a busy food distribution and manufacturing & logistics environment.
• Pick and stage orders accurately to meet daily shipping deadlines in Milton.
• Load and unload delivery trucks while adhering to strict food distribution safety standards.
• Transport palletized food products to designated cold storage or dry secondary locations.
• Perform pre-shift equipment inspections on all Forklift Operator machinery.
• Utilize RF scanner technology to manage inventory levels within the manufacturing & logistics system.
• Maintain a sanitized and debris-free workspace, essential for high-quality food distribution.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing & logistics supervisors to optimize warehouse space and efficiency.

Qualifications
• Valid Forklift Operator certification or equivalent verifiable experience.
• Mandatory experience operating both Dockstocker and Walkie forklifts.
• Ability to work in various temperatures common in food distribution (dry and refrigerated).
• Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs as part of standard manufacturing & logistics duties.
• Commitment to the Milton location and the early morning 05:00 AM shift.
• Strong history of reliability and punctuality in a manufacturing & logistics setting.
• Possession of CSA-approved safety boots.
