What this role is all about :
Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the VP, Consumer Banking is the business line leader responsible for leading and directing the credit union’s consumer banking sales, service delivery and business development activities while ensuring that the credit union effectively balances its goals and objectives for growth, member retention, depth of relationship, member experience / loyalty and the profitability of its consumer business operations. This role will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, management, and performance of our consumer banking operations. This business line leader role requires extensive experience in retail banking, a strong understanding of market trends, and a proven track record in driving business growth. The VP will work closely with senior management to develop and implement strategies that enhance customer experience, optimize financial performance, and expand our market presence.
What you'll do :
People and Organizational Leadership
- Functional Leadership : Oversee consumer banking operations across all regions.
- Team Leadership and Coaching : Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports to maximize sales, member experience, business and community development, and operational performance.
- Employee Engagement : Maintain high employee engagement through effective communication, regular coaching, and mentorship. Accountable for achieving high Employee Opinion survey results and employee retention levels.
- Succession Planning : Develop succession plans for key positions and ensure personal development plans are completed and implemented for internal candidates aspiring to advance their careers.
- Staff Training and Motivation : Train, motivate, and lead staff to ensure exceptional service is provided to members and branch employees, meeting the needs of both the organization and individuals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration : Proactively collaborate and engage with other cross-functional leaders to jointly plan and execute enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Budget and Business Planning : Align, coordinate, and execute all budget-related and business planning activities as per organizational cycles.
- Communication and Employee Experience : Contribute to a member-centric, healthy, sustainable, and engaging employee experience through consistent and effective communication.
- Collaborative Environment : Create a collaborative atmosphere and support a learning culture.
- Professional Development : Oversee professional development and coaching plans for all direct reports.
