Job descriptionValid Class 1 license 2 years of Class 1 driving experience Flatbed experience is an asset Must have excellent customer service skills Must be technologically adept and proficient in using mobile applications Less than High School, but has basic reading, communication, and arithmetic skills to follow direction Must be willing to learn Flatbed and Moffett Must be comfortable with both city and highway driving, regular tight turns, and backup into small docks Ability to lift to 50lbs consistently Follow company rules and regulations in regard to safety and hours of service Cohesive team and a positive, hard-working atmosphere. Position Summary
Responsible for transporting a variety of cargo on flatbed trailers while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and securing loads properly. Your role includes conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, managing delivery schedules, and operating the vehicle safely on various routes.
Location : Charlottetown, PEI
Schedule : Monday to Saturday
Hours : 7 am to 3 pm (could vary)
What you will do
- Ensure safe and timely delivery of loads
- Secure loads with proper strapping, regardless of weather conditions
- Report to dispatch at the start and end of each shift
- Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout the delivery process.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement, and report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs
