JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a motivated Agronomist / Agroecologist to monitor and optimize the growth and development of wild blueberries, ensure quality control for crop management activities, and drive innovation through on-farm research trials. The ideal candidate will have an applied agro-ecological focus, strong analytical and organizational skills, and a collaborative, proactive approach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Field Assessments :
• Travel to various farms and fields across Canada.
• Evaluate and assess crop performance and harvest readiness.
• Identify opportunities for field improvements and recommend strategies for risk mitigation.
• Data Collection and Analysis :
• Gather and analyze data on key crop performance indicators.
• Summarize findings in clear, actionable technical reports.
• Research and Development :
• Facilitate innovative on-farm research trials.
• Develop and document agronomic procedures and strategies for risk mitigation.
• Collaboration and Communication :
• Work closely with the Farm Management and Scout Teams.
• Participate in farm management meetings and contribute to crop management recommendations.
• Collaborate with local growers and Universities to foster knowledge-sharing and innovation.
• Participate in pollination services via communications and planning.
• Continuous Learning :
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
• Contribute to research projects and professional development initiatives.

General hours are 8am to 4 : 30 am Monday through Friday. Additional / Adjusted hours will be required by the demands of the position.
