We are looking for a dedicated and innovative Senior Control Systems Engineering Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Location – Mississauga, Thunder Bay - ON
Your role within the team :
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures and policies.
- Timely execution of the assigned scope in the assigned software project capacities.
- Perform suitability assessments (and qualifications where needed) of system hardware and pre-developed software components.
- Support designing, installation, and testing of an assigned product test environment.
- Integrate software and hardware components and prepare software engineering documents such as test procedures, test reports, and operation manuals.
- Provide site support and software maintenance services, including shift work (day and night shifts).
- Implement and maintain key project support systems (i.e., configuration management, document management, and change control systems) for the tooling department.
- Support the selection and qualification of Control Systems hardware by the tooling group.
- Collaborate with project teams to define requirements and deliver optimal solutions.
- Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Monitor project progress and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and update documentation for all electrical systems and components.
- Assist in preparing validation tests and / or reviewing the results of validation testing.
- Be responsible for change control by using the configuration management system to maintain software files, releases, and documentation. Prepare and maintain work plans for control software change activities.
- Support OPEX Review by assembling OPEX and assessing what changes should be incorporated into future designs of Tooling and Equipment.
- Report and suggest resolutions to any potential impacts to technical quality identified by various tool manufacturers and vendors.
- Ensure all work activities are performed safely, in collaboration with the Project Safety Manager.
