Journeyman Shop Foreman - $45-$53/hr - SE Calgary

Are you a ticketed Heavy Equipment Technician with experience servicing high-reach equipment like scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers?
Do you have leadership qualities, like mentoring apprentices, handling service calls, and being able to assist with diagnostics and repairs?

If so, then I would like to hear from you! A locally owned and operated high-reach rental equipment company is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to lead their service team!

Permanent Position
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4pm
Salary: $45-$53 per hour (range based on experience and certification)

Responsibilities
As a Shop Foreman, a normal day would include:

1. Implement and manage an apprenticeship pathway.
- Instruct and demonstrate maintenance and repair procedures.
- Demonstrate and review the equipment work order.
- Establish and maintain shop organization and cleanliness by delegating roles and responsibilities to shop employees.
- Carry out shop employee performance reviews.

2. Shop organization.
- Work with the service manager to create a shop layout to provide a safe and productive work environment.
- Create tool management and identify any company tools and equipment needed for the shop.
- Train apprentices on shop organization and tool management.

3. Shop management Software solution (in conjunction with service manager).
- Implement the repair work order process.
- Implement p.m. service process.
- Implement equipment repair and p.m. schedule.

4. Leadership Qualities:
- Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic shop environment.
- Managing competing priorities, addressing urgent repair timelines.
- Maintaining effective communication and leadership during high-demand periods.



Qualifications
What do you need for this position?
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification
- 4+ years of experience performing diagnostics and repairs on high-reach equipment is a strong asset
- Experience training apprentices
- Valid driver's license
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
