You’re an experienced and licensed 310T mechanic, looking for your next opportunity.
You’ve been searching for a few key things: a flexible, tight-knit work environment, a chance to refine your skills, and the opportunity to grow, while continuing to do the hands-on work that you love.
You’re in high demand, and you know it - you’ve got plenty of opportunities knocking at your door. You’ve been waiting for the right one – us.
Who are we?
We’re Sarnia Truck Centre, and we’ve been operating for over 30 years. We’re an authorized Volvo Trucks Canada facility.
We pride ourselves on our fast and friendly service, and our ability to handle repairs on any make of vehicle. We’re here to help, and our customers appreciate our helpful and courteous service.
Although we offer many services, a large part of what we do is repairing trucks and trailers – that’s where you come in.
310T Truck & Coach Technician
As our new 310T Mechanic, you’ll be working in our Sarnia shop, diagnosing and repairing trucks, trailers and highway vehicles.
You’ll work closely with our other technicians and apprentices, while reporting to the Shop Foreman.
As an experienced 310T Mechanic, our junior technicians will be looking to you for guidance and training. When you’re not turning wrenches, you’ll be coaching apprentices and junior technicians on how to perform more complex repairs.
We empower our employees by supporting learning and growth. With us, you’ll be able to refine your skills, and become a Master Technician.
You’ll excel in this role if you are:
- Mechanically inclined – you love working with your hands, you’re comfortable with all types of tools, and you can diagnose problems and make repairs efficiently
- Independent – you have a great work ethic and can take directions, run with them, and do whatever is needed to get the job done. You’ll have the support of management, but you won’t need anyone to hold your hand
- Organized – you can keep yourself organized, manage work orders, and effectively see repairs through to the end
- Leadership – you can coach and train junior technicians and apprentices, and you always lead by example
Practically speaking, here’s what you’ll do:
- Diagnose, trouble-shoot, and perform service and repairs on heavy trucks, trailers and highway vehicles
- Change or replace truck and trailer parts as needed
- Provide direction and assistance to other technicians or apprentices
- Promote a clean and safe work environment
The Details:
This is a full-time, permanent position working out of our Sarnia shop, at Churchill and McGregor Side Rd. You’ll be paid $40 per hour commensurate with experience, and you’ll have health benefits, group retirement savings plans, annual tool allowance, and vacation time.
You’ll work Monday-Friday on either of our 2 shifts, morning or afternoon. You’ll work each shift on a rotating basis. The day shift is from 7:30am to 4:00pm, and the afternoon shift is from 9:30am to 6:00pm.
Working with Sarnia Truck Centre
We’re a small, but growing company with 9 employees right now. We invest in our people so that we can provide top-notch service to all of our customers.
This role offers you flexibility, the chance to work within a close-knit and supportive team, and growth in your career. Additionally, you’ll also get the unique opportunity to participate in Volvo training, which we think you’ll find value in.
Qualifications
- 310T Truck and Coach Technician certification
- Experience performing service and maintenance on trucks and trailers
- Experience working as a mechanic, performing diagnostics and repairs
- Experience engaging with customers in a friendly and courteous manner
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 pounds
We’re looking for our next licensed 310T Mechanic, however we are also looking to take on apprentices with some experience. Whether you have several years of experience or are just starting out, we’d love for you to join our team.
