Job description

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, shop equipment, and facility infrastructure, including welding, cutting, and sandblasting equipment

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues involving motors, control panels, lighting, and gearboxes

  • Conduct overhead crane inspections and repairs

  • Work in physically demanding industrial environments, including working at heights using AWP and fall-arrest systems

  • Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation

  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and PCL affiliates for shop and facility repairs

  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safe work practices

Qualifications

  • Electrician ticket or equivalent combination of electrical training and industrial experience required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work

  • Experience working on industrial job sites and in varied environmental conditions

  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards

  • Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems

  • Ability to read and interpret building drawings, schematics, and technical documents

  • Overhead crane repair experience considered an asset

  • Experience working at heights (AWP and fall arrest certification preferred)

  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) experience considered an asset

  • Plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC experience considered a strong asset
