Job descriptionHost sportscasts, conduct interviews, write copy, edit audio and video, and produce thorough, fact‑checked, dynamic, compelling news content primarily for TV, radio and digital platforms. Work evening and weekend hours as required, depending on assignments. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Three (3) years of journalism experience or equivalent. Preferred : at least one (1) year of sports reporting experience. Broad general knowledge and thorough familiarity with the sports scene. Solid command of French; fluency in English is an asset. Ability to write effectively for all platforms (digital, mobile, social, radio, and TV) and strong interviewing skills. Understanding of CBC / Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices. Ability to thrive in a team environment while being a self‑starter. Creative, enterprising, and inquisitive fact‑gathering approach. Strong personal initiative and independence in creating digital content. Very good knowledge of digital journalism, digital formats and social media management. High level of proficiency with Dalet and Mediacomposer is an asset. Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines. Résumé. Cover letter in French. Links to one or two samples of on‑air sports host work. Mandatory criminal record check. Other background checks may be conducted based on operational requirements.
Sports Reporter (French Services)
Reporting to the Sports Managing Editor (digital / radio / TV), you will work as a sports reporter, delivering accurate, relevant news content across all CBC / Radio-Canada platforms in line with CBC / Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices.
You will be based at the Centre de l’information (CDI) in Montreal, the central point of convergence for news of the day.
