Description  : Reporting to the Student Life Coordinator, the Sports Complex Technician is responsible for the overseeing of Sports Complex operations for various activities such as the Community Program, rentals of the Synthetic Field and facilities, Physical education courses as well as Athletic events. This includes the planning, preparation and installation of materials and equipment necessary for the activities of the Sports Complex users as well as being responsible for the storage of equipment and performing various tasks related to the operations of activities.

More specifically, but not limited to, the Sports Complex Technician :

  • Oversees all Sports Complex and Sports fields regular operations at night and is responsible for closure;
  • Assist in the implementation of college activities, rentals, athletic events and other special events;
  • Assists in the booking and rentals of the facilities and provide information to potential customers and users;
  • Assists in the hiring, training and evaluation of student workers;
  • Assists in the promotion and advertisement of the Sports Complex activities;
  • Updates information concerning Sports Complex activities and events on the website;
  • Serves clientele at the equipment counter for renting or borrowing equipment;
  • Maintains and cleans equipment for all users and rental group of the Sports Complex in all activity areas;
  • Prepares and takes down equipment for activities and supervise student workers for those tasks;
  • Maintains the inventory of all equipment and makes recommendations for purchases of equipment;
  • Assists in establishing the equipment needs for the variety of programs and the purchase of sports equipment;
  • Responsible for collection payments for some activities as well as preparing the deposits;
  • Carries out minor repairs and maintenance and sees that major repairs are being made.

Other related tasks which fall within the scope of the classification of this position may be assigned.

  • Diploma of college studies (DEC) in an appropriate specialty or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the
  • competent authority.

    Conditions related to the specific position :

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without supervision;
  • Good human relations, communication and organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of sports activities;
  • Experience in the planning of events;
  • Proven ability to work with young adults;
  • Customer service oriented;
  • Ability to perform physically demanding labor (to be tested);
  • Excellent English oral and written competencies (to be tested);
  • Good French oral and written competencies (to be tested);
