The role of the senior solution architect is to be the key solution architect for the business areas of the digital sector. Tasks include understanding business requirements for projects and designing technology solutions that will meet requirements in the areas of business, application, information, and technology, within the context of the enterprise architecture vision and actual BRP context, as well as considering non-functional requirements, including security, performance, etc. The solution architect will be assigned to a few projects in parallel and will be part of the project team for the duration of each project, with accountability for the design of the solution. Outside of project work, the senior solution architect will be a key partner with the enterprise architecture and project management office teams to share best practices and ensure alignment in terms of technology strategy for the respective business areas. We’re using an enterprise architecture tool to document architecture artifacts.
YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO :
Support solution architects for the digital / E-commerce / marketing ecosystem.
Assess the business requirements for initiatives or problems.
Gather non-functional requirements.
Pre-select and compare potential technical solutions, including software selection when needed.
Provide an architectural conception of solutions with respect to business, application, information and technology domains via the solution architecture design document.
Lead in designing, specifying and selecting information system solutions, considering functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure and performance.
Support the project team during the specification and design phase.
Partner with the organization to understand the organizational and departmental strategy, and agree on information systems solutions to meet needs.
Investigate information systems that might benefit BRP.
Document the solution in the enterprise architecture tool using ArchiMate language.
Develop and maintain a model of BRP’s current and future application architecture in the EA tool.
Develop and maintain a model of BRP’s current and future digital architecture and design a structure that is stable, resilient, agile and performant.
Lead the organization in exploiting technology and using knowledge of IT solutions to drive organizational change and support business process design.
Understand and support software architecture design, and support the development team in developing solutions.
Estimate cost and prepare business cases for IT solutions, considering infrastructure, licences, development and support.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES :
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related study, or equivalent project-related experience.
At least ten years of experience in IT, with at least five years in information system design.
In-depth experience designing and implementing information solutions, with a specialization in e-commerce enterprise systems.
Hands-on experience implementing E-commerce (B2B / B2C), CRM, mobile applications, Websites (contents and forms) and marketing automation tools.
Knowledge of restrictions concerning consumer data, private information and consent management.
A strong ability to influence, and communicate orally and in writing with business executives and colleagues is key.
Ideally, a formal qualification in Enterprise Architecture (e.g. TOGAF with ArchiMate) or formal qualifications in technology.
Bilingualism (French and English).
Strategic business acumen, an understanding of organization strategy and the ability to design information systems to deliver that strategy.
Experience in assessing a broad range of information solutions and products.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to lay audiences. Some experience working with executive stakeholders.
A self-starter with the ability to appropriately prioritize and plan complex work in a rapidly changing environment.
Result-oriented with the ability to produce products that deliver organizational benefits.
A strong critical thinker with problem-solving aptitude.
A team player with experience leading and collaborating cross-team to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
Strong conceptual and analytical skills, demonstrating outside-of-the-box problem-solving skills to develop solution architecture designs.
Experience in developing Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA).
Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies such as TOGAF with ArchiMate or the equivalent.
Working knowledge of systems like Salesforce.com, Adobe AEM, Magento and the marketing suite.
Working knowledge of systems like mobile application, intranet and IoT.
