  • Participate in system and peer reviews to guide technical decisions and ensure design robustness.
  • Review and authorize cost / effort estimates in support of bids, proposals, project planning, and engineering change order development.
  • Quality Improvement & Assurance

  • Track process maturity and gaps, implement new processes to ensure consistent delivery of outputs.
  • Contribute to cross-functional processes and procedures.
  • Launch and manage improvement initiatives to increase quality, consistency, and robustness of engineering outputs.

  • Work with the Chief Engineer to investigate, analyze, and resolve complex failures or systemic challenges.
  • Facilitate and lead RCAs, support post-incident corrective actions, and embed lessons learned into future designs and processes.
  • Digitalization & Innovation

  • Drive digital transformation within the department in collaboration with the Chief Engineer and R&D, including model-based engineering, automation tools, simulation frameworks, and digital strategies.
  • Evaluate and introduce technologies that reduce development cycle time, improve design quality, or enhance cross-functional integration.
  • Encourage bottom-up innovation and experimentation to solve technical or operational challenges.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to align task ownership, schedules, and resourcing in a matrixed environment.
  • Support Supply Chain to ensure manufacturability, parts availability, obsolescence management, and ongoing technical supplier discussions.
  • Support Operations by resolving build issues, improving engineering documentation, and addressing non-conformances.
  • Contribute to lifecycle cost reduction initiatives through technical input and design changes.
