Status : Full Time

Hours : Teaching is normally scheduled between 8 : 00 am and 10 : 00 pm, Monday to Friday. In accordance with the Collective Agreement, workload may be up to 44 hours per week.

Home Campus : Fennell

Rate of Pay : $73,079 - $126,689 per year

Start Rate : Upon hire, Human Resources will conduct a rate calculation based on completed education and work experience to determine the step within the range as per the Collective Agreement.

What you’ll be doing :

Under the direction of the Associate Dean, professors in the Department of Community, Wellness & Public Safety, School of Interdisciplinary Programs and Community Services department, provide academic leadership and develop effective and inclusive learning environments. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following :

• Delivering theory and practical-based courses.
• Creating a positive and innovative student-centred virtual / remote and / or in-person learning environment.
• Using a variety of teaching strategies most appropriate for the curriculum.
• Using a variety of techniques to evaluate achievement of learning outcomes.
• Managing the educational environment to facilitate an optimal learning experience and student success.
• Enhancing educational delivery and experiences through the use of technology.
• Applying college values and philosophy in work activities and interaction with others.
• Developing, evaluating, revising and delivering academic curriculum collaboratively with other professors in accordance with LSO competencies and updates.
• Using Mohawk’s learning platform Canvas to deliver course content, communicate with students, and provide assignment feedback to promote student success
• Collaborating with Student Rights and Responsibilities to address adverse student behavior.
• Supporting students with accommodations as prescribed by Accessible Learning Services department.

The successful candidate must have the ability to relate theoretical knowledge and practical applications through innovative delivery methods in-person and remotely to provide a meaningful learning environment for students of diversebackgrounds and ages. The ability to work as a part of a team and demonstration of excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
