Purpose :
Reporting to the Manager, Graduate Communications & Recruitment for the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies, the Social Media & Engagement Assistant will support the development and execution of social media campaigns.
The successful incumbent will also support the creation of multimedia content such as photos, videos. The Social Media & Engagement Assistant will support the planning of social initiatives and marketing events as well as prepare a variety of communication materials.
Education :
Must be a current York student. 3rd-4th year undergraduate student enrolled in Communication & Social Studies, Cinema & Media Studies, Design, Digital Media, Film Production, Visual Art preferred.
Experience :
Previous communications experience required including experience with content generation on social & digital media platforms.
Experience with social media management tools such as Sprout Social is an asset. Familiarity with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
Skills :
Ability to learn and use editing software and a variety of computer applications as well as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro).
Proficient in photography, videography, and animation.Ability to creatively write content to engage an intended audience.
Ability to perform online searches, gather and organize information.Ability to meet deadlines and organize time effectively.
Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to present data in a variety of document and display formats.
