Job description
The Strathcona Hotel is in the heart of downtown Victoria’s vibrant community. With a hotel, nine bars, a live music venue, and a liquor store, there is somewhere for everyone to enjoy at The Strath.
Do you have security experience and a valid BC Security Workers License? Are you looking to work with a dedicated and diverse team? The Strathcona Hotel is looking to hire 2 people to provide daytime security.
When you join The Strath, you are not just getting a job – you are joining a family who wants to see you succeed in having a positive impact in your daily activities. This position require strong communication skills and experience related to this role.
- Valid BC Security Workers License
- Serving it Right
- Basic First Aid (OFA 1)
- Flexible availability including afternoons, evenings (
- Must be available weekends
- 2 years of related experience
- The ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
- Conduct patrols of various areas
- Knowledge of security protocol and procedures
- Professional approach to the role; acting in a disciplined, honest and ethical manner
- Possess sound judgement and decision-making skills, with a ‘hands on’ approach to problem solving; strong conflict resolution skills required
- A calm demeanor
- Possess strong knowledge of security procedures
- Strong observation and communication skills
- Proficient in the English language (verbal & written)
