Job descriptionB.Sc in Computer Science, Technical Diploma Specializing in Programming, or equivalent. 3+ years of Software Development. Experience in designing REST based APIs. Guidewire development experience (GOSU, Jutro) and certification would be a huge asset. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities. Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Results oriented individual who thrives working in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in insurance or financial institutions is an asset. Experience with .Net technologies, Microsoft SQL Server and related query tools are a nice to have. Overview
We currently have two position available for Software Developers as part of our Information Technology department. This role is based out of our Edmonton office. Reporting to the Software Development Manager and working within a dynamic team of IT development professionals, this role is responsible for the support and development of our applications.
What You'll Do
- Review software requirements and design documentation for new and existing applications.
- Write clean, maintainable code and associated unit / automated tests for new features and bug fixes.
- Familiarity with SDLC, Agile, and DecSecOps, with ability to contribute to process development.
- Knowledge of building microservices and cloud service platforms (AWS) is a valuable asset.
- Identify opportunities to improve business process efficiency.
- Troubleshoot issues and recommend modifications to meet changing user requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to business users on effective application usage and IT best practices.
