Your Opportunity:

Wainwright is a vibrant & friendly rural community of around 7,000 located in east-central Alberta on highways 14 & 41. You will be close to parks, playgrounds & numerous recreational amenities including the Multiplex with a walking track, climbing wall, pool, weight training facilities, dance studio, meeting rooms & banquet halls. The lifestyle in this community is enhanced by an excellent choice of schools, extensive health care facilities & an array of year-round recreational opportunities. The Wainwright Obstetrics Department consists of a four room Labour and Delivery area. We care for patients during the antepartum, intrapartum & postpartum periods including patients requiring C-sections. We value providing high quality, effective, efficient, evidence-based, patient-centered care for all of our pregnant, laboring, postpartum, newborn & perinatal loss patients. We strive to build an environment that empowers our patients & families through education and support through the life change that is pregnancy & childbirth, while also encouraging our staff to continuously learn & grow. Primary duties is within labor & delivery, which is a part of the general medicine floor at the Wainwright Health Centre. Other related duties will include collaboration and assistance with Acute Care & Emergency Units. It is mandatory that all med/surg nurses take the L&D/postpartum education if you don’t already have it.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $ - $ per hour. Upon obtaining a full licence, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article or (ii) as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification. If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the past five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required prior to employment: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4): NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification:
