Job description

An established environmental and geotechnical consulting firm is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to join our specialized Monitoring team in Concord, ON. Founded over two decades ago, our company addresses complex environmental challenges within the construction and land development sectors. We specialize in providing practical, real-world solutions that help clients navigate strict regulatory frameworks, permits, and compliance requirements.

From routine inspections to rapid emergency response, we act as the crucial bridge between regulatory bodies and contractors. Trusted by government ministries, conservation authorities, and municipal leaders, our proven track record includes scientific data collection, wetland classification, impact statements, wildlife relocation, and comprehensive construction monitoring. If you are a solutions-oriented professional looking to make a tangible impact in land development and environmental stewardship, we want to hear from you.

Advantages
We offer a supportive, forward-thinking work environment designed to help you thrive both personally and professionally. Benefits of joining our team include:
- Modern Workspace: Work out of a contemporary, fully equipped office setting.
- Casual Work Attire: Enjoy a comfortable "dress for your day" casual dress code.
- Relaxed & Supportive Atmosphere: Collaborate with a team that values a low-stress, high-performance environment.
- On-the-Job Training: Access continuous learning opportunities to expand your technical and leadership skills.
- Flexible Working Hours: Maintain an excellent work-life balance with adaptable scheduling options.

Responsibilities
As a Project Manager on the Monitoring team, you will be responsible for the following key areas:
- End-to-End Project Delivery: Own project timelines, budgets, and quality standards from award to closeout, ensuring all obligations are met under our standardized execution processes.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring proactive communication, transparency, and trust. Uphold our corporate commitment to respond to all client inquiries within a four-hour window.
- Financial Accountability: Own the project P&L, tracking budgets, change orders, invoicing, and accounts receivable while ensuring target gross margins are met through disciplined scope management.
- Team Coordination & Leadership: Lead and align internal delivery partners—including Operations Leads, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Analysts, and Coordinators—to achieve efficient, standardized project execution.
- Scope Control & Risk Management: Identify and escalate project risks, delays, or resource constraints early to leadership. Formally document and communicate all scope changes.
- Quality & Compliance Oversight: Ensure all deliverables meet regulatory standards, corporate standard operating procedures, and our strict two-signature QA/QC policy while promoting a robust health and safety culture.
- Reporting & Documentation: Oversee the preparation and delivery of reports, data dashboards, and regulatory submissions using standardized digital systems and project management tools.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Program Managers, Operations, and Sales to ensure seamless client handoffs, pipeline visibility, and continuous improvement of proposal estimating practices.
- System & Process Discipline: Utilize internal digital project management software for scheduling, reporting, and communication to guarantee data integrity.
- Cultural Leadership: Model corporate core values, mentor junior staff, share lessons learned, and cultivate a performance-based, collaborative team culture.
- General Support: Execute any other reasonable activities required by management and leadership to support team success.

Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following education, experience, and competencies:
- Education: Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation Technology, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Proven field experience in construction, civil/mechanical engineering, water/wastewater technology, environmental technology, or related environmental sectors.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical troubleshooting capabilities and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with digital project tools; familiarity with AutoCAD is considered a strong asset.
- Certifications: A valid driver’s license is required. Confined Space Entry certification and additional industry-related certifications are highly valued.
- Soft Skills: An organized, self-motivated individual with strong initiative, meticulous attention to detail, and an outgoing, team-oriented personality.
- Commitment: A dedicated focus on client satisfaction, responsiveness, and the delivery of high-quality scientific work.

Summary
