Your Opportunity:

Taber is a town in southern Alberta, located approximately 51 km east of the City of Lethbridge at the intersection of Highway 3 and Highway 36. Its location offers the perfect balance of small-town charm, easy access to urban amenities and a growing health care network. From world-famous corn to exciting events, breathtaking scenery, and abundant sunshine, Taber welcomes everyone to share in an adventure. Whether you're exploring the friendly community, savouring local flavors, or enjoying the great outdoors, discover why Taber, Alberta is your next great destination. Based out of the Taber Health Centre, the sole-charge physiotherapist in this role will have the opportunity to use their skills in a variety of areas within the health care system, including acute care, outpatients, and community/supported living settings. This role allows you to work with clients across multiple clinical environments and fully utilize the scope of your physiotherapy practice. This is your chance to work across all streams of care, gaining diverse experience and making a meaningful impact in the lives of Albertans.

Description:

As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.
