We are currently seeking Personal Support Workers (PSWs) for Part-Time and Casual positions in a Long-Term Care Home in Shelburne, Ontario.

Position Overview

If you are a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker who is passionate about delivering exceptional resident care, we would love to hear from you. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, resident-centred environment while making a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors.

What You'll Do

  • Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Support residents with mobility, hygiene, dressing, grooming, and feeding as required.
  • Observe, document, and promptly report changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the nursing team.
  • Follow individualized care plans, facility policies, and established best practices.
  • Assist in promoting residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Support meal service and encourage resident independence whenever possible.
  • Adhere to Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) standards and workplace safety protocols.
  • Foster a respectful, collaborative, and positive team environment while maintaining resident dignity and privacy.

Qualifications

  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) Certificate from a recognized program.
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (issued within the last six months).
  • Valid TB Test/Screening.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in Long-Term Care is an asset.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused approach to care.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience with dementia care, GPA (Gentle Persuasive Approaches), or NVCI is considered an asset.
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to providing high-quality care.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset.
