The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) reports to the Health and Wellness Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day safety and provision of personal care and services for seniors. By promoting the values, goals, and philosophy of the Home, the RPN effortlessly / consistently engages in meaningful interactions with residents, families, and team members.
Responsibilities :
- Provides direction and supervision to PSWs / team members,
- Responsible for ongoing assessment of resident care needs, monitoring and reporting changes,
- Participates in the development and modification of resident’s plan of care. Assists in implementing / evaluating the effectiveness of the plans,
- Supports / participates in the orientation of new Associates,
- Accountable for the medication delivery system for the Residents,
- Ensures medications are ordered, received, and administered as prescribed,
- Liaisons with Residents, families, and outside agencies as required,
- Respects the Residents’ Bill of Rights,
- Liaisons with the Resident’s physician as necessary,
- Promotes a safe, healthy workplace,
- Completes weights and blood pressure checks as required,
- Provides ongoing education to Associates to meet legislative requirements and learning needs of Associates,
- Aware of role and responsibilities under the Occupational Health & Safety Act,
- Inspires others to be motivated and work with passion and empowers staff,
- Completes nursing documentation,
- Any and all other tasks as assigned.
