Our team driven culture values safety, continuous improvement, and strong working relationships. We believe in creating an environment where people feel respected, supported, and equipped to grow their skills.

As Malach continues to expand, we are looking for a Plant Manager who can provide strong leadership, elevate operational performance, and help shape a modern and progressive manufacturing culture.

Your Impact :

The Plant Manager is responsible for the effective leadership of all manufacturing operations at Malach. This includes oversight of production, maintenance, quality, inventory, and logistics to ensure daily performance targets are achieved.

This role supports the company’s commitment to operational excellence, safe work practices, and strong team development. The Plant Manager is key in building a high performing workforce, strengthening internal processes, and supporting long term growth.

Why This Opportunity Matters :

  • Lead operations at a respected, growing Manitoba manufacturer.
  • Influence how the plant operates, invests, and modernizes.
  • Join a leadership team that values collaboration, accountability, and open communication.
  • Lead a team that cares about quality, craftsmanship, and helping each other succeed.
  • Competitive Manitoba compensation with long term growth potential.

Primary Areas of Influence :

Leadership & Operations Management :

  • Lead daily plant operations including production flow, scheduling, quality, shipping / receiving, and maintenance.
  • Promote a strong and proactive safety culture aligned with Manitoba Workplace Safety & Health, quality, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs including throughput, efficiency, scrap, on-time delivery, labour utilization, and downtime.
  • Work closely with engineering, purchasing, and sales to support smooth order progression and customer delivery.
  • Production Planning & Efficiency :

  • Plan labour, materials, and machine usage to meet production targets and minimize delays.
  • Review operational data to identify issues and implement improvements that reduce waste and increase throughput.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and lead problem solving to maintain workflow.
  • Support preventative maintenance planning to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Quality & Compliance :

  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to maintain compliance with QMS, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) are implemented effectively and consistently.
  • Reinforce a culture of quality ownership, awareness and accountability at every stage of production.
  • People Leadership & Culture :

  • Coach and support supervisor, leads, and production team members in meeting expectations.
  • Build a respectful and inclusive team environment where team members feel valued and supported.
  • Encourage open communication, timely feedback, and opportunities for skill development.
  • Support performance management, onboarding, and cross training initiatives.
  • Financial & Strategic Leadership :

  • Manage plant level budgets including labor, maintenance, materials, and overhead.
  • Support equipment investment planning cost justifications, and long-term operational improvements.
  • Participate in strategic planning to support Malach’s long term growth and competitiveness.
  • Qualifications :

  • Diploma or Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive manufacturing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or plant management role.
  • Strong background in lean manufacturing, process optimization, and team development.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, ERP / MRP systems (e.g., JobBOSS), and ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Strong communication, leadership, coaching, and relationship building skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change and improve overall plant performance.
  • Key Competencies :

  • Leadership accountability and strong decision making.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to interpret data and take corrective action.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust and support a positive team culture.
  • What Success Looks Like :

  • Predictable production performance with improved flow and reduced downtime.
  • Strong safety results and active participation in hazard identification.
  • Improved scrap rework rates through consistent quality focus.
  • Reliable on-time delivery performance.
  • Strong team member engagement, clear communication, and team-oriented plant culture.
  • Effective management of labour, material usage, and plant costs.
  • What You Can Expect From Us :

At Malach, we believe that people do their best work when they feel valued, supported, and set up for success. We work hard to create a workplace that reflect that. You can expect :

  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience and market standards.
  • Group benefits including health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Matching RRSP plan.
  • Opportunities for skills training, development, and leadership growth.
  • A respectful, team focused culture where your ideas and leadership make a real impact.
  • A safe environment with modern equipment, clear procedures, and strong safety culture.
  • A stable, long standing Manitoba employer committed to long term investment.
  • All applications are reviewed with care. Only those whose qualifications closely match the role will be contacted for the next stage.
