We are seeking a skilled toolmaker, mold maker to join a reputable client in Boucherville. This permanent, full-time position offers a supportive work environment and comprehensive employee benefits. The Outilleur-Mouliste plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and longevity of molds and tooling systems. In close collaboration with the technical team, this individual is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of molds, directly contributing to improved product quality, process efficiency, and overall manufacturing productivity. The role demands a high level of technical expertise, precision, and proactive problem-solving to support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on tooling and molds.
- Carry out urgent repairs and internal modifications to molds and tooling.
- Conduct periodic mold inspections and accurately document all maintenance and repair activities.
- Identify quality issues related to molds and parts, and propose corrective actions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in accordance with 5S principles.
- Fabricate, repair, or modify special tools, molds, assembly jigs, and calibrated gauges using various metals and alloys, adhering strictly to provided drawings and tolerance requirements.
- Set up, operate, and maintain conventional machines including lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and reamers to achieve precise dimensions and surface finishes.
- Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling and departmental processes.
- Support the commissioning of new molds and perform necessary adjustments to ensure optimal functionality.
- Ensure all inspection and maintenance reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company protocols.
- Perform any additional duties related to the role as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
- Diploma in machining from a technical school (DEP).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a plastic manufacturing environment as an Outilleur-Mouliste or Machinist.
- Advanced machining experience with the ability to handle complex assemblies and produce intricate shapes with tight tolerances on conventional machines.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex technical drawings for molds and tooling.
- Solid understanding of mold design principles, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to operate conventional machining equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders) efficiently and accurately.
- High level of precision, attention to detail, and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
- In-depth knowledge of measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks for design and modification tasks.
- Strong ability to manage priorities and respond effectively to urgent situations.
- Commitment to safety standards and workplace compliance.
- Excellent manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working independently.

Benefits
Location: Boucherville (Single work location, free parking).
Status: Permanent, Full-Time.
Schedule: Day Shift (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM).
Salary: $30.00 to $34.00 per hour (based on experience).
Start Date: As soon as possible.
