The Role : As a Bilingual Registered Nurse (RN) in the Recovery Room, you will provide expert patient care for individuals in the immediate post-operative period. Working in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their smooth transition from surgery to recovery.
Responsibilities :
Provide direct patient care in the pre-and post-operative phases, monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
Assess and manage patients' pain, vital signs, and overall condition, intervening with appropriate treatments and medications as necessary.
Educate patients and their caregivers on post-operative care, discharge instructions, and recovery plans, ensuring bilingual communication (English and French).
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal care during the patient's entire perioperative experience.
Maintain accurate patient records, documenting all care provided, interventions, and patient responses.
Identify and mitigate risks to patient safety, taking immediate actions to address complications or emergencies.
Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Current, unrestricted RN license in your province.
Minimum of 2 years of Canadian nursing experience in the recovery room.
Bilingual proficiency in English and French (spoken and written).
ACLS certification.
Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
