The successful candidate
will be able to : Perform diagnostic assessments of students to evaluate strengths, weaknesses and areas for intervention to treat individual students communication disorders (speech, language, phonological awareness) Understand and support the Response to Intervention (RTI) Model Develop a treatment plan based on evidence-based practice Maintain records on the evaluation, progress, and discharge of students Recommend suitable materials to schools and parents Collaborate with other professionals (e.g., occupational therapist, educational psychologist, audiologist, ASD team, etc.) Consult with teachers to support assessment findings and assist with individual program planning Advocate on behalf of students with communication disorders and populations that are at risk Practice within CSASK Professional Code of Ethics Applicants must possess a masters degree in Speech & Language Pathology and be eligible for membership in CSASK. Experience working with children and youth in an educational setting would be an asset, as well as an aptitude towards working with assistive technology. This position involves travel to schools within the school division and a valid drivers license and dependable vehicle is required.
