The NH Regional Education for Perianesthesia Critical Care Nursing uses a standardized, evidence informed on-line curriculum offered by Elsevier, called ASPAN Mosby's Orientation to Perianesthesia Nursing (MOPAN) with additional evidence informed on-line modules completed through Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO). The program begins with the Mosby's ECG Dysrhythmia Interpretation 4.0 educational course. REPACC continues with a 10-week theory portion using a blend of evidence-based online learning modules, instructor led theory, skills labs, simulation, and clinical practicum to introduce learners to perianesthesia nursing. REPACC includes essential education courses Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Collaborative Advanced Management of Airways for Nurses (CAMAN) which provide essential and valuable knowledge and skills to prepare learners to anticipate and provide safe patient care in the perianesthesia care setting. .
Upon successful completion of the theory based learning, learners are paired with a preceptor for 20 - 8 hour shifts in PACU and 8 - 12 hour shifts in the ICU. The preceptorship will prepare nurses to provide safe and competent perianesthesia nursing care at a novice level.
