About the Faculty Department
The Brock University Nursing Department is home to two Nursing Programs, (1)a direct entry, four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), and (2) a concurrent Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Nursing (BNMN). The BNMN is unique to Brock as it is the only program of its kind in the country. The BScN program offers extensive lab and clinical experiences and has a student population of approximately 800.
About the Position
The Faculty of Applied Health Sciences and Department of Nursing at Brock University are seeking a Black Scholar, Registered Nurse, with a completed PhD in nursing, to submit an application for a probationary tenure-track position, at the rank of Assistant Professor with a start date of July 1, 2026, or an earlier agreed-upon start date. This position consists of 40% teaching, 40% research and scholarly activities, and 20% service. The successful candidate will support teaching needs in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Applicants must show a strong commitment to Primary Health Care principles, as well as diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
Qualifications
Specifically, a Black Scholar with a proven record of excellence in teaching diverse nursing courses, possess expertise in course development, and is skilled at providing high-quality instruction. We especially welcome applicants with a background in teaching large classes.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Relevant clinical experience is required, clinical background in medical / surgical nursing, or critical care is preferred. Applicants should provide evidence of a developing program of research. Research that includes vulnerable populations or health inequities among equity-deserving populations would be an asset. Evidence of successful student supervision at the undergraduate or graduate levels is an asset.
Candidates must be Registered Nurses in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario or be eligible to obtain registration prior to February 27, 2026.

The target hiring range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000. The final salary will be determined based on relevant experience, internal equity and budget considerations.
