What is the Opportunity?
As part of an alliance agreement Aecon Nuclear has been awarded a contract with Ontario Power Generation to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP). Beginning in 2024 Aecon will commence with the site mobilization and construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.
Reporting to the Manager, Weld Development and Technology with a functional reporting line to the Area Lead or Project Director of the scope they are supporting withing DNNP. The Welding Engineer will assist in the planning, organization, control, integration and completion of works related to the welding scope of the reactor building. The Welding Engineer oversees all on-site welding activities related to the reactor building mechanical and piping installation.
