ROLE
- Performs laundry procedures related to personal linen, as per family centered care philosophy at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare
- Performs laundry procedures related to sorting, washing and drying of linens such as slings and other hospital linen as required
- Performs procedures related to the electronic orders, collection, distribution, processing, inventory control and labelling of all linens
- Distributes personal and institutional linens to the units by receiving, loading, sorting and recording personal linens on established control sheet.
- Discards of worn or damaged linens beyond repair, ensuring appropriate record keeping
- Maintains a tidy and clean work area and equipment and ensures care and economical use of supplies and equipment.
- Loads and unloads washers and dryers and cleans out lint catcher
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in record maintenance and dealing with the public
- Knowledge of Laundry operation an asset
- Knowledge of Laundry chemistry and textiles an asset
- Good verbal and written English communication skills with an ability to work within a team approach
- Physically capable of performing assigned duties
- Ability to meet and maintain health and attendance standards
- Computer application skills, to include Microsoft Office applications
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Location(s): South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge.
Hours of Work: Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement.
