About the Role
A growing power generation service organization is seeking a Senior Field Service Technician to support customers across Southern Ontario. This is a hands-on, field-based role for a technician who thrives in high-responsibility environments, can confidently lead in the field, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.
We are looking for someone who is not just seeking a job, but a long-term career—someone who values being part of a team, contributing to the success of the business, and continuously developing their technical and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues on power generation equipment
- Perform full engine overhauls independently on large engine systems
- Conduct advanced electrical troubleshooting on:
- 24V DC systems
- AC systems up to 600V
- Lead field service jobs with confidence, making sound decisions under pressure without overreacting
- Support and guide junior technicians when required
- Complete service work at customer sites across Southern Ontario
- Communicate professionally with customers and represent the company in the field
- Maintain accurate service documentation and reports
- Participate in an on-call rotation after onboarding
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on technician experience in power generation, diesel, heavy equipment, or related fields
- Proven ability to independently overhaul engines (not just assist)
- Strong electrical troubleshooting experience in both DC (24V) and AC systems (up to 600V)
- Demonstrated leadership ability — capable of taking charge of situations calmly and effectively
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently in the field
- Must own personal tools
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to travel daily and stay overnight as needed
What We’re Looking For
- A technician who wants to build a career, not just earn a paycheck
- Someone who takes pride in their work, their equipment, and how they present themselves professionally
- A team-oriented individual who values long-term growth and contributing to a strong company culture
- A motivated self-starter who asks thoughtful questions about the work, the company, and how they can add value
Schedule and Travel
- Field-based role covering Southern Ontario
- Technicians dispatch directly from home to job sites
- Overnight travel required, typically up to 3 nights per month
- Limited weekend work
- On-call rotation participation after training
Compensation and Benefits
- Paid travel time
- Company vehicle
- Company phone
- $500 annual tool allowance
- Comprehensive benefits package
This is an opportunity to join a team that values technical excellence, accountability, and long-term career growth.
