Our client in the Metal Fabrication industry is seeking a Mechanical Designer / Detailer to join their team on FT and permanent basis.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with the planning, production & sales department to measure, assess & sketch structural layout and details for new and existing tanks, bridges, and equipment.
Location : Barrie – 100% on-site.
Key Responsibilities :
Interpret architectural and structural drawings, analyze blueprints and documentation for estimates, and use CAD systems accurately.
Enter materials list data for fabricators, create / manage work orders, and coordinate with Quality Assurance and Production to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Troubleshoot drawing issues, develop drawings from concepts, assist in project estimates, and provide guidance for complex engineering projects.
Review shop drawings, communicate with customers / engineers, and collaborate with the Quality Department.
Participate in planning / estimating stages, maintain good relationships, adapt to changes, and support sales / engineering as needed.
Requirements :
Engineering Degree or Engineering Technologist / Technician (BSc., P. Eng., or CET.)
Knowledge of Safety PLC Systems and Safety Standards.
Proficiency in reading / interpreting welding blueprints, mechanical drawings, and manuals.
Expertise in fabrication procedures and analyzing technical specifications.
Strong analytical skills and customer orientation.
Proficient in MS Office, Inventor, and AutoCAD for data file management and creation.
