VVS FILMS is a film distribution company operating in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.We are seeking an individual with a passion for film and entertainment to join our Public Relations team. The ideal candidate is excellent at multitasking, has publicity experience in the Canadian market, and an interest in all facets of the film industry. This role will also assist with publicity and promotions in Australia and New Zealand, although experience in those territories is not required.Key Areas of ResponsibilityPublicity – CanadaAssist in developing publicity strategy for titles ensuring national and local media coverage for releases.Liaise with Canadian and international agency partners.Update and maintain database of Canadian media, content creators, and influencers.Write and disseminate media alerts to Canadian press.Book press screenings in all markets and monitor press attendance and reactions.Pitch, track, and disseminate screening links for review press.Pitch interviews for junkets or local press days.Book and execute phone / zoom interviews with talent.Work with designers to create assets for campaigns, events, and screenings.Support for special events and awards, such as TIFF, CSAs, TFCAs, etc.Assist in the planning and execution of Canadian press days and other publicity events.Assist with department administration as needed.Prepare press clippings and wrap reports for all releases, to be shared internally and with key stakeholders.Publicity – Australia & New ZealandAssist in the coordination of agency for films releasing in Australia and New Zealand.Oversee junket nominations with agency.Update internal team on campaign progress and highlights.Compile clippings from agency and share them across VVS Films and key stakeholders.MarketingAssist in creation of marketing decks in conjunction with our graphics department. Coordinate exhibitor (in theatre) marketing initiatives for Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.Ensure press and exhibitors are using correct marketing materials, including trailers and posters.QualificationsMinimum 3-5 years of previous communications experience, preferably in the entertainment industry. Knowledge of Canadian film media landscape. Experience in Australia and New Zealand not required.Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field.Knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite, Zoom, and MailChimp.Strong interest in trends, film, television, and pop culture.Must be reliable and can work independently.Someone who pays close attention to detail and can communicate effectively and tactfully.Must be able to work well under time constraints.Must be able to work in the office a minimum of 3 days a week.Knowledge of French an asset but not a requirement.Ability to take calls and email with Australian team and partners outside of standard business hours.About VVS FilmsVVS Films is a leading motion picture production and distribution company with over 40 years of operation in Canada.
