Job description

Your Opportunity:

The Drumheller Health Centre provides services to the residents of the town of Drumheller and surrounding communities. It offers the opportunity to care for a variety of clients within the unit, throughout the continuum of health care including medical, surgical, obstetrical, palliative, emergency, restorative, and SL4 patients. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) on the interprofessional team, working within your scope of practice, you will: collaborate on the delivery of care to meet the needs of patients. As a Licensed Practical Nurse in SL4/Restorative care, you will leverage your knowledge and experience in meeting the care requirements of a geriatric population. You will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of quality care following policies and guidelines of Alberta Health Services. You will provide quality care to residents through the development, implementation and ongoing administration of the client care plans. To be successful you will be self-directed with excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, and communication skills. You have a willingness to learn new skills as required, through ongoing responsibility for maintaining continuing competence through professional development activities. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if there are any COVID outbreak restrictions.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
