Job Description
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will lead and execute design, analysis, testing, and commissioning of complex equipment and systems throughout the entire product life cycle. You will prepare, approve, or lead the creation of design documentation, technical specifications, development and test plans, and engineering quotations. You will also prepare and verify 3D modeling for conceptual design and perform stress analysis. Your role includes applying and leading design for manufacturability/assembly (DFMA) techniques and providing technical support to CAD, Procurement, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and Commissioning and Service personnel.

- 7+ Years of Mechanical Design
- Experience Conceptual Design
- Experience with Automated, Semi-automated systems, or robotics systems

Responsibilities
- Lead design and analysis of complex equipment and systems throughout the product life cycle.
- Prepare and approve design documentation, technical specifications, and engineering quotations.
- Perform stress analysis and 3D modeling for conceptual designs.
- Apply and lead design for manufacturability/assembly (DFMA) techniques.
- Provide technical support to various departments including CAD, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Quality.
- Participate in and lead design reviews, preparing and presenting technical data.
- Prepare and verify project-level deliverables, including evaluations, reports, and assessments.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and quality systems.
- Provide technical leadership and direction for projects as required.
- Identify and analyze project risks, propose solutions, and communicate with leadership teams.
- Build customer relationships and ensure market alignment.
- Take an active role in proposal development and review, including scope review and estimate preparation.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in design and mechanical engineering, including SolidWorks and Inventor.
- Experience with automation, conceptual design, and component selection.
- Experience in tooling design, engineering calculations, and stress analysis.
- Knowledge of ASME standards.
- Strong project management skills, including experience with project schedules and budgets.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peterborough, ON.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
