Martchtech is working with a key client to support the recruitment of a Fire & life safety Manager to work on high profile railway projects in Toronto.
This is a position to work on projects in the rail (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars) industry.
Responsibilities :
The Fire & Life Safety Manager in an infrastructure design project has the function of defining the safety and fire protection strategy, as well as ensuring that the design being carried out is sufficiently safe and that all the disciplines involved are doing their part to follow the defined strategy in such a way as to guarantee compliance with the applicable rules and regulations.
The FLS Manager will review the design to identify and correct potential fire safety and life safety hazards.
The FLS Manager will coordinate with the client and local authorities to ensure that the project meets expectations.
Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and post-graduate degree in Safety, Fire Engineering, Emergency Management, Mechanical engineering or a related field
- It is desirable that you have a professional certification such as CFPS (Certified Fire Protection Specialist) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification
- Knowledge of fire safety standards and regulations (such as NFPA) as well as others related to life safety (such as OSHA) applicable to infrastructure design projects.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in high-pressure and emergency situations in a construction environment
- Rail project experience is an asset
