Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) has partnered with IOOF Seniors Home to move select Alternate Level of Care (ALC) patients, who no longer require the level of acute care provided in a hospital setting, to the newly-opened IOOF Short Term Transitional Care Unit.
As the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) you are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the organizational philosophy, policies and standards of care of RVH, the College of Nurses (CNO), and all relevant legislation.
In this role you will assess, plan, coordinate and manage care of select Alternate Level of Care (ALC) patients and families in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team and according to hospital and department policies and procedures.
As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements:
• Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope
• Completion of recognized Medication Administration Course
• Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current BCLS
• Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession
• Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area
• Functions independently within scope of practice
• Computer literacy in current software applications
