Senior Accountant

York Care Centre is a Centre of Excellence in long-term care in New Brunswick. Operating as part of York Developments Inc., our senior living options include a 218-bed modern long-term care facility, an assisted living facility with 31 studio apartments, and 72 independent living apartments. We also operate The York Care Foundation, leading fundraising efforts on behalf of York Care Centre.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring all financial records and accounts are accurately maintained in compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies of the York Group of Companies.

Responsibilities :

• Coordinate and manage all financial and accounting activities related to month-end close, including account reconciliations, journal entries, analysis, and reporting. Play a key role in the year-end audit process.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce internal controls for financial management; support budgeting and cost control efforts; and provide statistical analysis as needed.
• Manage all aspects of accounts receivable activities for the York Group of Companies.
• Assist in preparing the annual budgets of the York Group of Companies.
• Assist in onboarding, training, and ongoing support of junior accounting personnel.
• Foster effective, courteous, and professional communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
