About the role
We’re looking for a Human Resources Consultant who is eager to learn and gain some experience in the HR consulting area to support our national Claims team!
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager , Corporate and Atlantic Claims (located in Calgary), you will be a member of a national collaborative HR team located in all other regions nationally. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to further develop their HR knowledge, skills and expertise in the HR consulting areas.

What you’ll do here :
Provide coaching, professional guidance and advice related to human resources management, taking into account best practices and trends, and ensuring that decisions and management practices are made in compliance with legislation and the company’s values
Assist with / conduct investigations, aid managers in conflict management and other issues
Search and analyze data and recommend potential solutions to a variety of tactical and operational issues in human resources management
Conduct exit interviews and analyse data / trends to share back with the leadership team
Make salary recommendation based on compensation best practices
Participate in the deployment of Business Unit initiatives and corporate programs and in other projects as needed
Provide HR support as needed to the HR Claims teams for Corporate & Atlantic Claims
Contribute to the HR process improvement
What you bring to the table :
University degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources Management with three (3) years of experience in human resources or equivalent experience.
Ability to evolve in a multi-site, matrix organization and in a constantly evolving environment.
Strong communication skills, strong ability to influence and relational ease with all hierarchical levels.
Rigor, analytical and synthesis skills.
Knowledge in many areas of human resources including talent management, performance management and employee relations, disability management, change management, engagement, compensation, organizational development, workforce planning and succession planning.
CHRP and / or CHRL designation preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
