Michels Canada is seeking an experienced and proactive Supervisor of Environment to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Safety and Environmental Manager, this role will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of environmental programs across all Canadian business units. Based out of our Nisku South office, the role requires regular travel to project sites across Canada for inspections, audits, and support.

This position involves supervising the HSE-Environmental team, fostering innovation, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations while delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with strong organizational skills, a technical background in environmental science or engineering, and a passion for sustainable practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Program Leadership :

Advise, ensure, and support the effective implementation of environmental programs across Canadian business units.

Oversee the HSE-Environmental team, including hiring, training, goal setting, and performance management.

Develop site-specific environmental plans, such as Environmental Management Plans, Waste Management Plans, Spill Prevention Plans, and Dust Control Plans.

Act as a primary contact or delegate for regulatory site visits and ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations.

Collaborate with the HSE department to identify and implement tools to enhance communication, process management, and reporting.

Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor environmental compliance and performance.
