Health, Safety & Environment Officer
Dass Metal Products is looking for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer who is responsible for ensuring that all safety protocols, environmental standards, and health regulations are adhered to within the organization. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs, conducting regular inspections, and training staff on safe practices to create a safe and healthy working environment. The entire Dass Plant is to be kept physically monitored during working hours .
Responsibilities
Patrol inside and outside the plant every half an hour to monitor everything with the perspective of Health, Safety, and Environment
Organize and manage daily house keeping activities for each workstation indoor / outdoor of the plant
Provide information / training to employers, employees and visitors.
Establish and implement policies and procedures
Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards
Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses
Initiate enforcement procedures for issuing notices, warning letters and keep record
Manage training and development strategies
Oversee development of communication strategies
Develop and implement health and safety plans
Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
Oversee the preparation of reports
Respond to employee questions and complaints
Keep in touch with management and HR
Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
Inspect products and processing methods; prepare reports and ensure that regulations governing health, quality and safety are followed
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
First Aid Certificate
Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
2-year proven experience for similar role
In-depth knowledge of local, provincial and federal safety regulations
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify potential hazards and recommend effective solutions
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to develop and deliver engaging safety training programs
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred
Salary & Work Hours
22CAD / hour – 40 hours / week
