Health inspector Jobs in Guelph, ON

We are currently seeking a Recycling Supervisor for one of our clients located in KWC region to support their metal recycling plant.

Pay - 70K to 75K

Shift - Days

Key Responsibilities

Supervise scrap yard personnel to ensure safe and efficient placement movement and processing of scrap cars trucks and materials

Plan organize and control incoming and outgoing scrap to maintain smooth yard operations

Oversee proper inspection of incoming scrap in coordination with the Scrap Inspector; make final decisions on acceptance or rejection

Ensure all equipment is operated correctly to prevent damage reduce downtime and extend equipment life

Identify equipment issues coordinate repairs and implement corrective actions to minimize breakdowns

Develop implement train and audit standard operating procedures for scrap yard activities

Schedule staff manage work hours approve overtime when required and document performance or disciplinary actions

Coordinate with Traffic Sales and Purchasing teams to ensure timely truck loading and unloading including managing peak-volume periods

Lead team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety productivity and material recovery

Enforce housekeeping standards to maintain a clean organized and compliant work environment

Ensure compliance with health safety environmental and company policies at all times

Qualifications & Experience :

University degree with 2 3 years of related supervisory experience or 5 7 years of hands-on experience in the scrap metal or recycling industry

Strong working knowledge of scrap metal grades steel types and material classifications

Proven leadership experience in an industrial recycling or scrap yard environment

Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers scrap suppliers drivers and internal teams

Strong problem-solving organizational and decision-making skills
