One year of experience in a writing role at a newspaper or magazine
Post-secondary studies in journalism, media, communications, film, TV or related field
Experience with business journalism is not required but would be considered an asset, as would a strong interest in writing about the business side of TV and film
Adept at using CP Style, with an eye for detail and copy consistency
Proven understanding of journalistic standards and practices
Superlative time-management and organizational skills
Experience and comfort with establishing and maintaining key editorial relationships with exec-level contacts
Team player attitude and comfortable working on a small editorial team
Strong editorial standards and sound news judgment
Inside knowledge of the film and television industry would be an asset
Ability to edit video is an asset
Ability to travel within Canada, as needed
