Job descriptionReading and interpreting engineered drawings. Performing setups and making program changes for yourself and others. Designing and specifying jigs to maximize efficiencies. Loading and securing raw materials using appropriate clamps, jigs, and other devices. Conducting first piece inspections prior to starting production runs. Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process. Completing quality control tests at various manufacturing stages and on the final product. Cleaning and maintaining the machines. Training new employees on machine operation procedures. Recommending changes in process or tooling to Supervisor or Plant Manager. Investigating and resolving machining problems. Continuous process and procedure improvement. Legally eligible to work and reside in Canada. Minimum of 2-5 years of experience for new hires. Formal machinist training and experience in manufacturing. Ability to communicate effectively with staff. Strong attention to detail. Physical fitness to lift heavy materials onto machines and stand for prolonged periods.
