Video Game Research and Development

Compensation

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator and Lab Demonstrator positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.

  • Employees who do NOT hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate - $ hour.

  • Employees who hold a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the graduate rate - $ hour.

  • In cases whereadditionalduties are required as part of a Teaching Assistant’s duties, these hours shall be compensated at theappropriate TeachingAssistant rate.

Duties

The duties and responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant shall be in accordance with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. These are made up of scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (including preparation of seminar material, student consultation, marking or grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration as may be required.

Qualifications

1.Applicants must hold aBachelor's Degreeor equivalent in media arts or other relevantareaof study (1).

2.Evidence of teaching effectiveness (, through course evaluations and/or academic references).

3.Minimum of twoyearsexperienceworking in the video games or interactive media industry.

4.Minimum of twoyearsexperienceleading, co-leading, or collaborating on video game or interactive media production projects.

5.Demonstratedknowledge of project management best practices.
