We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in the mining industry for an Administrative Assistant in Vancouver, British Columbia. The chosen candidate will be joining a lean team, providing comprehensive support during the busy end of summer period and covering general office duties, travel arrangements, and event planning.
Responsibilities :
- Handling email correspondence and managing calendars for executives
- Assisting with arranging travel, including visa applications and itinerary planning
- Performing general administrative duties as they arise daily
- Providing receptionist services, including taking calls and covering the front desk as needed
- Coordinating meeting rooms and catering services for in-office conferences and workshops
- Offering support in group management and planning activities
- Assisting in offloading clerical support to aid existing team members
- Playing a critical role in end-of-summer wrap-up activities, including offsite tasks and shortlisting.
- Prior experience in a part-time receptionist role is preferred
- Proficiency in arranging travel is required
- Demonstrated ability to handle email correspondence effectively
- Strong skills in managing schedules are required
- Knowledge of the mining industry is a plus
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of discretion and confidentiality is required
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- High school diploma or equivalent education level is required
- Previous experience in an administrative support or secretarial role would be advantageous.
