Job Description:

Full Stack Developer

Client: Top 5 Bank

Duration: 5 months with a preference for contract to hire candidates

Work Location: Hybrid 1-2 days a week downtown Toronto

Hours: hr/week; Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Role:

The for this consultant is to focus is on a mix of critical enhancements, functional modifications, and minor modernization initiatives for desktop banking applications. As a key member of the development team, you will provide hands-on support for application updates and maintenance while assisting senior team members on larger, long-term modernization efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Engage with 3rd-party software product vendors and Dev teams where needed to work out interfaces or deployment particulars
• Compute work effort estimates and interact with Development and Project management to plan the delivery of work.
• Develop the solution and corresponding unit tests and execute development-level testing. Coordinate with Development team peers on the integration and co-testing of multi-part solutions.
• Participate in design and code peer reviews.
• Work with the Operations team to document the solution’s deployment procedures.
• Work with and support the Testing team to move the solution through the testing environments and the testing phases. Diagnose and resolve any testing variances found.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in software development with majority with Java development.Proficiency in Java 8 and up
• Proficiency in Java/J2EE, Spring/Springboot, Web Services (SOAP, JSON and RESTFul).
• Strong background developing .NET applications with proficiency in .NET 10 and C# 14.
• Hands-on experience with and either Angular TypeScript or React.
• Strong database experience, including SSIS reporting, batch processing, and general scripting.
• Understanding of microservices architecture platforms, design patterns, design modelling, SOAP, XML, JSON and RESTFul web services, SQL,
• Deep understanding of HTTP , HTML 2026, CSS 2026 (Tailwind, Vite, and Wireit), and modern Web Standards (WebSockets, WebComponents, WebStorage).
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), writing Unit Test frameworks (, JUnit, TestNG),
• 1+ years of experience in Cloud environments (Azure Preferred) and Containerization and Container Orchestration (OpenShift/Kubernetes/ Docker).
• Knowledge of DevOps, GitHub, Docker, Splunk & Dynatrace
• Strong ability to communicate complex technical topics
• Strong planning ability, with close attention paid to progress vs plan.
• Ability to juggle multiple work items and prioritize between them.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice to have:

• Financial environment experience
• Interest in or experience with AI tools (, GitHub Copilot) to build simple agents or accelerate development workflows

Apex pay scales are determined by role, experience, skill set, and location. For this new position, the estimated hourly range is provided below as a guideline; however, total compensation may vary based on individual circumstances.
